Hello world, once more

Hello, friend.

It's been a while, I admit.

We used to spend hours upon hours talking with eachother, sharing random thoughts and feelings, going over our days or writing bad poetry just for the sake of writing bad poetry. We shared it all - songs on our minds, our feelings, photos of climbing the hill behind our childhood home, juvenile love and adult hate. Now - no more.

We've closed ourselves behind restricted profiles, fake personas and 'brands'. And no, I do not mean screen names - those had an identity of their own. A story. I mean intent. Everyone wants to present themselves in their best possible light for any future prospective evaluator. Scared to be themselves on the off chance they'd one day be famous for something and the media hounds and AI crawlers will dig up all of the dirt they could. Whole companies promise a digital purge of your past you. Even this blog is obfuscated much more beyond what I deemed to be the "open web" of days ago.

You won't see my name here, friend. Not that I harbour any big dreams of reaching any form of fame, but rather on the off chance that I do - I'd be too cheap to use those aformentioned services. I still want this to have it's own personality though. Like in the good old days of the www.

stf out.
